Community+Content
We have a lot to learn ... together.
Our Land+Sky education programming includes a series of workshops and in-depth school tours for ages seven - adult.
Teachers, artists, and expert guides help participants access the broad spectrum of subject matter that sets Land+Sky apart as a rewarding in-person learning experience. Equally valuable is the opportunity to learn in community.

Regenerative Agricultural Practitioner, Collector, Historian+Garden Designer
Thomas Lloyd-Butler
It was Ida Ross, Tom's paternal grandmother, who inherited the ranch in 1908, at the age of 17, then married John Lloyd-Butler and began managing the ranch in the manner it still runs today. Tom spent his childhood years at the ranch and now enjoys weekends sourcing rare plants via Craigs List and pairing them with European antiques, in a continual quest to actualize his vision. By so doing, together with his partner Dan Zelen, he expanded his mother's camilla collection into a botanical garden of unparalleled size and diversity in Ventura County. He is also a gifted speaker and will be leading botanical tours of the ranch.

Volunteer Curator + Event Producer
Robin Wallace
As an Art Director and freelance Producer, Robin worked closely with photographers for many years. In 2016, she co-founded 101North, representing properties for filming in Ventura County, which was actually a disguise for her interests in the past present and future of our local agriculture and ecology. As a board member of Studio Channel Islands Art Center, she started Open Range Sundays and Land+Sky to merge her interests in ecology, history and the arts, and to create immersive contemporary art experiences for the wider public. It is a continual source of joy and pride for Robin to see Ventura County's most beautiful and fascinating places interpreted by world class artists.
